Who We Work With
Since 1994, we have worked with clients of all ages, all walks of life, and many different health conditions, and we will continue to do so.
However,
As a Professional Health Coach, I have chosen to work primarily with adults age 45+ who
- feel uncomfortable or frustrated with their health and/or their status in life
- are frustrated by their level of stress with their jobs or family life
- may have stress-related illnesses
- or maybe they’re just feeling betrayed by their own bodies and minds!
Many people in these groups want to continue to truly live as long as they live. They are open to learning and striving to be the best they can be.
They understand that their chronological age (which we can’t change, no matter how much we lie!) doesn’t necessarily match their biological age (which we CAN change!).
Why these Groups?
Because I’ve ‘been there, done that’ and have come out on the other side, feeling like I’m in the best time of my life.
In addition to my leadership experience and my training as a Professional Coach, I feel I have some real life experiences which will help me guide people on their journey to overcome their current frustrations and achieve a healthier, happier life.
What might be some of the things causing this level of stress and lack of health?
- Managing multiple schedules and demand for high organizational skills
- Juggling multiple priorities
- Managing groups of people (professionally and/or family responsibilities)
- Rushing all the time but always behind
- Trying unsuccessfully to complete a huge ‘to do’ list
- Having many people looking to you for answers and direction
- Dissatisfaction with achievements and status
- Sick and tired of feeling sick and tired
- Catching every bug that comes along and passing it around the family for weeks
While some stress may be beneficial, excessive and long-term stress can cause a multitude of health problems such as heart problems, high blood pressure, neck/back pain, digestive problems, and can contribute to numerous other conditions such as premature aging.
Some interesting statistics I saw recently showed that an American Psychological Associate (APA) study revealed that 43% of U.S. adults suffer adverse health effects from stress, and the American Institute for Stress estimates that 75-90% of doctor visits stem from stress-related problems.
That is Staggering.
Another study in 2006 by the APA shows that people with chronic stress are more prone to age-related diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, osteoporosis, metabolic syndrome, major depression, and mental decline.
And no, we don’t claim to cure any disease, but we work with a number of people with chronic health conditions. Often a person is so overwhelmed by the severity and limitations of their condition that they need someone else to help them find ways to manage their condition. Some of the conditions we have worked with include:
- Allergies
- Asthma
- Cancer
- Cardiovascular problems
- Chronic fatigue
- Crohn’s disease
- Diabetes, types 1 and 2
- Fibromyalgia
- Headaches
- High blood pressure
- Immune system related illness
- Irritable bowel syndrome
- Lupus
- Menopause and Peri-Menopause
- Multiple sclerosis
- Nutritional support
- Premature aging
- Rheumatoid and Osteo-Arthritis
- Skin conditions
- Stress management
- Ulcerative colitis
- Weight issues – need to gain or lose
